Robert Kerry qualified at The Middlesex Hospital. His surgical training was carried out in Sheffield and he did an arthroplasty fellowship in Vancouver, Canada before being appointed consultant at Sheffield. Bob is currently the Clinical Director for Orthopaedics at the Northern General Hospital and is an active member of the British Hip Society and Clinical Lead for the Northern General Hospital Bone Bank.

Robert Kerry was born in Sheffield and qualified MB, BS at the Middlesex Hospital, London, in 1987. After House Officer posts in London and Sheffield he did his Basic Surgical Training in Sheffield gaining FRCS(Eng) in 1991. He did his Higher Surgical Training in Orthopaedics on the North Trent Training Scheme gaining his FRCS(Orth) in 1996. In order to pursue his interest in hip and knee arthroplasty he was a Clinical Fellow in the world renowned unit in Vancouver, Canada, supported by the John Charnley Trust from 1997 to 1998. He has been a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Lower Limb Arthroplasty Unit at the Northern General Hospital since 1998. In common with the other members of the Unit his clinical work almost exclusively involves primary and revision arthroplasty of the hip and knee with a special interest in complex cases including those involving infection and massive bone loss.

Bob has published numerous papers in the field.
